Care Recommendations

SWIMWEAR:

Wash with cold water

You should wash your swimsuits by hand after each use, with fresh water and soap. If you notice that the sun has made them a little stiffer, you can add a few drops of fabric softener at the end of the wash (exceptionally) and then rinse with cold water.

You should avoid hot water at all costs, this way you will not damage the fabric and they will last much longer.

Do not Wring

This common gesture as wring is very corrosive. Don’t do it! If you want to remove the water before hanging it, the ideal is to fold it between your hands and press your palms against each other to remove the excess water. If you don’t twist the fabric, you won’t weaken it and you will prevent it from losing its strength.

Dry your swimwear in the shade

Another common mistake that we make in summer is to hang the clothes in the sun so that they dry beforehand. We recommend that you let your bikini or swimsuit air dry, preferably in the shade. This way you will maintain both its color and its elasticity.

Beware of plastics and humidity

When you take a bath in the pool or on the beach and then change your clothes without going home, what do you do with the wet swimsuit? Another mistake we often make is to store it in a plastic bag. What happens in this case is that the fabric overheats and the plastic accelerates the wear process.

Therefore, if you cannot wash and let your swimwear dry as soon as you get out of the pool or the sea, the ideal is to wrap the swimsuit in the towel or, failing that, in a mesh bag.

Save correctly

This is vital. First of all we must give it a wash (even if it is clean). You can do it with the washing machine, if you want, as long as you use a program for delicate clothes. Once you have dried it in the air, we must fold it carefully and store it in a cloth bag (its own packaging). In this way you will protect it from humidity and dust and it will always be ready for the next bathing season.

PANAMA HATS:

How to maintain a Panama hat?

If you are in love with these pieces of crafts, surely you have asked yourself on many occasions. When you buy a Panama, you know that you are buying a special product, made and woven by hand and that, therefore, will require a series of specific care.

HYDRATE YOUR PANAMA HAT

When you notice your hat has becoming dry and stiff, apply steam to it from an iron at distance. This way, your hat will gain flexibility and you will notice it less brittle.

Try to avoid getting your straw hat wet. Remember that humidity can cause the straw to rot and cause terrible mold spots to appear. Straw hats are not impervious to rain, avoid getting wet because the straw can swell and the hat can be deformed. If your hat does get wet one day, don’t make the mistake of placing it on a direct heat source or drying it with a hair dryer, this can toast the straw and make it brittle.

If your hat gets wet, what you should do is the following: take a clean cloth, try to absorb the water from the hat, and then let it dry naturally in a place where there is ventilation and natural light, without using hair dryers. no heating. You can also take a damp rag and place it over the brim of the hat and iron on a low setting.

How to clean our straw hat?

If by mistake or carelessness your panama hat got stained, and you don’t know how to remove the stain, don’t be scared, this little problem has a solution. What we are going to use is only a clean cloth and a little mild soap, if it is much better baby soap, what we will do is gently rub the hat with a damp cloth and soap until the stain is removed, you have to do this until it foams and repeat it as many times as necessary for the stain to come out, you should not do it with force, once the stain has been removed, wipe with a slightly damp clean cloth to remove the soap.

If the stain is made of a substance that is difficult to remove, it is preferable that you take it to the dry cleaner so as not to spoil it. It is better to have it fixed by a professional. And if you want to keep your hat clean and dust it off, just use a dry cloth or sponge and wipe the hat gently.

Trick!: Most of cases, a white eraser will help you remove dirt and leave it as new. Straw is a fiber very similar to paper and it is for this reason that the eraser will give you great results.
